Clay is Good Dirt
I have been creating handmade stoneware and porcelain utilitarian ware and sculpture in my Montague studio since 2001. Located in the beautiful Pioneer Valley, surrounded by the Connecticut and Deerfield Rivers, the rolling hills of Western Massachusetts is a wonderful place, rich in heritage and tradition to find inspiration for my work.
The clay I work from is individually crafted on the potter’s wheel, hand built, or cast in molds of my own design, bringing out the unique personality of each mug, plate, bowl or jar. My water fountains, set in an entrance way or garden, can bring the relaxing sounds of water into your home, lending charm and elegance to your personal space.
For celebrating special occasions with friends and family, or a unique gift for a wedding, anniversary or birth, the one-of-a-kind work of Good Dirt Pottery is a piece of New England that fits in a country home or city dwelling.
From my hands to your home, the creative journey will continue with you. Whether it’s the quiet presence of a handmade vase created in collaboration with earth and fire, the comfort of the day to day ritual of reaching for that certain mug to start your morning with, I hope you will find the pleasure and affordability of handmade ceramic fits your personal style and traditions.
Enjoy your visit.
